About
Melita Ivković is a performing artist on the classical guitar with a career spanning more than three decades, marked by over 500 performances across 32 countries.
A central focus of her recent artistic work is the Croatian Guitar Duo with Edin Karamazov. In addition, she co-founded Dina e Mel in 2011, an ethnomusicological project dedicated to reviving the nearly forgotten vocal heritage of the Zadar Arbanasi. Their debut album, Bërbili (Nightingale) (2020), was selected for the MOST – Balkan Music Export platform in 2022 and features guest appearances by Edin Karamazov (guitar and saz), Yvette Holzwarth (violin), and Miroslav Tadić (guitar). She is also a long-standing member of the Zagreb Guitar Quartet.
Alongside her performance career, Melita Ivković has contributed to the musical field through teaching, international festival management, and cultural leadership. She served for six years as Director of the Zadar Concert Office and currently teaches at the Elly Bašić Music School in Zagreb.
